SIP Trunk
SIP Trunk is a type of technology that lets you make calls over a data connection. SIP Trunk phone systems allows larger businesses to manage all their telephone calls over a single data connection. Plus it allows you to have multiple phone numbers without the need for multiple phone lines. If your business is growing, it’s easy to scale your phone system. And if you need to move premises, you don’t need to change your phone numbers because they aren’t tied to the local exchange.
SIP Trunk over Internet
The difference between the “traditional” SIP trunk is literally nothing more than the location of the PBX service. “Over the Internet” is for users that may have their PBX system installed anywhere in the world or hosted in the Cloud and requires a Static Public IP Address. Once your “Over the Internet” SIP Trunk has been activated by Primetel, you will receive the below SIP Trunk information via email in order to be able to configure the service:
- SIP Signaling IP Addresses/SIP Port
- SIP Media IP Addresses
- SIP Signaling transport Protocol
- Voice Codec's
- Packet Size
- DTMF
- Fax
- Authentication
- Number of Digits send/receive from PBX
SIP Number Registration
No matter where your IP phone, softphone application or PBX is physically located, you want it to be able to receive calls. This service is for users and companies that may need one single number registration either for personal or enterprise use. Once your SIP number registration service has been activated by Primetel, you will receive the below information via email in order to be able to configure the service:
- Username for Authentication (Telephone Number you have been allocated)
- Password
- Domain
- SIP Signaling transport Protocol
- Voice Codec's
- Packet Size:
- DTMF:
- Fax:

- Includes one free national DID number
- Premium and gold numbers have additional cost
- Can be unconditionally forwarded to a national fixed or mobile number
